Jailer 2, a film starring Rajinikanth, has not been released in major Hindi theaters due to a disagreement. The producer declined to extend the theatrical window from four weeks to eight weeks. Southern films are increasingly prioritizing streaming rights over traditional box-office success, impacting overall profitability. Analysts believe that longer theatrical runs benefit producers and the film ecosystem as a whole.
